Sri Lanka's State Minister of Defense, Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon, expressed gratitude to the Government of India for their unwavering support in protecting Sri Lanka's sovereignty and territorial integrity during challenging times.
According to a statement issued by the High Commission of India in Colombo, the state minister's acknowledgment underscores the close bilateral ties and highlights the partnership between the two nations in maintaining regional stability and security.
Tennakoon made the statement at a Seminar and Exhibition on Defense in Colombo organized by The High Commission of India.
The exhibition showcased the growing defense collaboration between India and Sri Lanka.
The event, held on June 7, brought together defense stakeholders from both nations and witnessed the participation of industry representatives.
The Seminar and Exhibition served as a platform to showcase the use of Indian defense equipment by the Sri Lanka Armed Forces.
The exhibition featured a range of equipment, including L-70 guns, Indra Radar, Offshore Patrol Vessels, and Army training simulators, which have proven instrumental in strengthening Sri Lanka's defense capabilities. The recent commitment by the Government of India to supply additional equipment, such as a Floating Dock, Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, and Dornier aircraft, further solidifies the partnership between the two countries.
